Mountain goat

A mountain goat has a long head and small backward-bent sharp horns. Its wool is purely white, long and very thick. Such a fur-coat enables the animal to support a heavy cold together with a strong wind. Goats hold together in not numerous flocks high in the mountains, feed on various herbs and lichen.

A goat female gives birth to 1-2 cubs that can stand up just after their birth. Some hours later, the kids try already to climb and to jump.

Mountain goats can climb steep hills and rocks very well. Their forked hooves do not slip and can move apart. Thanks to it, a mountain goat can climb steep mountains.
