Lesser (or red) panda

A lesser panda is a very attractive small animal with the size of a big home cat. It resembles a bear-cub with a long and very fluffy tail. The color of the lesser panda thick fur is very bright: red-colored back, black belly and a white mask on the muzzle

A red panda lives in mountain bamboo forests. Short strong paws with claws enable the panda to easily climb trees and to get down from them.

The lesser panda feeds mainly on bamboo. In winter, the pandas add fruits, berries, mushrooms, bird eggs to their menu. They usually eat in darkness and sleep in the trees in the day time, rolled up and covering the head with their tail like with a blanket.
