Two stubborn goats met once on a narrow log, thrown across the stream. It was impossible for both of them to cross the stream at once; one had to turn back, give way to the other and wait.

- Give way to me," said one.

- There you go! Look at you, what an important gentleman," replied the other, "get back, I was first on the bridge.

- No, brother, I am much older than you, and I should give way to a milkman! No way!

Then both of them, without thinking for a long time, faced each other with their strong foreheads, clashed their horns, and, resting their thin legs on the deck, began to fight. But the deck was wet: both stubborn men slipped and flew straight into the water.

The fox and the goat

One day a fox was running along the road, looked at a crow and fell into a well. There was not much water in the well: you can't drown, but you can't jump out either.

The fox was sitting in the well thinking what to do.

At that time a goat - a clever head - was walking along the road. He looked into the well and saw the fox there.

- What are you doing there, fox?

- I'm resting, my dear, - the fox answered. - It's hot upstairs, but here it's cool, it's good! There is as much cold water as you want!

And the goat has been thirsty for a long time.

- Is the water good? - asks the goat.

- It's excellent! - answers the fox. - It's clear and cold! Jump in here if you want. There's room for you and me.

The goat jumps into the well, and she says to him:

- "You can't even jump, you splashed all over me.

The fox jumped on the goat's back, from back to horns and jumped out of the well.

And the goat almost starved to death in the well. They barely found him and pulled him out by his horns.
