The Tibetan pheasant Crossoptilon harmani
The Tibetan pheasant occurs in southeastern Tibet in China and adjacent India. It is usually found in dense forest understory, at elevations of 2,800 to 4,700 m above sea level. These pheasants are seen in bushy and grassy clearings, rhododendron thickets, and tall dense scrub in the valleys. The body length is about 86 cm. In spring, bird pairs are formed. Females lay eggs from April through June and incubate the clutch alone.
