Claire's mouse lemur (Microcebus mamiratra), or the Nosy Be mouse lemur, is a newly described species of lemur from the genus of the mouse lemurs (Microcebus).
Distribution
Microcebus mamiratra is a newly described species of lemur from the genus of the mouse lemurs (Microcebus). It occurs on the island of Nusi-Be in Antsiranana Province, Madagascar, and on the island of Madagascar near the village of Manehoka.
Appearance
The adult animal weighs about 60 g, which is the average for mouse lemurs. The fur is reddish brown on the back, darker on the spine. The abdomen is white or cream-coloured. The total length is 26 to 28 cm, including a tail length of 15 to 17 cm.
