Appearance and distribution
Microcebus sambiranensis is a species of strepsirrhine primate in the family Cheirogaleidae (mouse lemurs). A small animal discovered only in 2006. Like other lemurs, it is endemic to Madagascar. It has a light brown to reddish-brown dorsum and grey abdomen. It has black vibrissae.
The species was discovered in north-western Madagascar, in the Ankarana Nature Reserve, during a special survey.
