The Antafia sportive lemur, or red-shouldered sportive lemur (Lepilemur aeeclis) is a sportive lemur endemic to Madagascar.
Distribution
Lepilemur aeeclis is a species of lemur, endemic to Madagascar, in the genus Lepilemur. It is found in western Madagascar, where it inhabits dry deciduous forests. The range is limited to the Betsibuka and Mahavavi rivers.
Appearance
The coat can be of variable colouring, the colouring possibly depending on the age of the animal. The muzzle is usually grey and the ears are round, visible from the coat. The muzzle may have dark markings, giving the impression of a "mask". A dark, sometimes reddish band runs along the muzzle from head to tail. Abdomen and thorax light to dark grey. The tail varies in shades of grey and red. Total length 52 to 59 cm, of which the tail measures 24 to 26 cm.
