Petter's sportive lemur (Lepilemur petteri)
Petter's sportive lemur (Lepilemur petteri) is a sportive lemur endemic to Madagascar. It is one of 26 species in the genus Lepilemur.
Distribution
Lepilemur petteri is a species of primate mammal in the family Lepilemuridae. Endemic to Madagascar. Known from the Besa Mahafali Reserve, south of the Onilahi River and west of the Linta and Menarandra Rivers.
Description
Externally similar to Lepilemur leucopus, but slightly larger. The fur is grey or brownish-grey, the abdomen and thorax light grey. Muzzle with light-coloured round markings around the eyes and under the chin. Ears light, with a dark brownish-grey rim. Weight about 630 grams, average body length 23.2 cm, average tail length 23.7 cm.
