Introduction

I created the ZOOGALAXY ecosystem in response to a problem I had been facing for many years: knowledge about nature, wildlife and biodiversity in the world is growing, but for most people — especially children and young people — it remains complex, fragmented and detached from real life.

Scientific research, red data books, and the work of zoologists and nature reserves often exist separately from people's everyday experiences. In most cases, environmental education conveys information, but rarely forms a lasting emotional connection with nature and offers almost no understandable tools for personal involvement in its preservation.

This gap is particularly acute in the digital age, when children and teenagers live in a mobile environment but are increasingly distanced from the living world.

I asked myself: how can modern mobile technologies be used to create a digital environment in which nature becomes an understandable, familiar and meaningful part of human life — from early childhood and throughout life?

The answer to this question was the ZOOGALAXY educational mobile digital ecosystem for Android and iOS.

What is the ZOOGALAXY ecosystem

Work on the project began in 2012 with the creation of the non-commercial educational and informational internet portal Zoogalaxy. net / Zoogalaktika. ru, dedicated to the animal world and biodiversity. In 2020, the project's development moved to the mobile environment with the creation of native mobile applications and thematic mobile social networks for Android and iOS.

In 2025, patent protection was obtained for a key technological solution — Rezvov Mobile Software, which was the result of five years of work on the creation of a technical result, confirmed by a patent for the invention.

ZOOGALAXY is not a separate mobile application or media project, but a practically implemented mobile digital ecosystem that is constantly awaiting new speakers and educational materials. It combines systematic knowledge and perception of the animal world, knowledge about biodiversity, the connection between animals and the cultural and historical heritage of territories, and digital tools for real participation in nature conservation.

The ecosystem is based on the principle: Emotional involvement → Systematic education → Practical action. The ecosystem was created as a single continuous user journey, where each stage logically follows from the previous one.

The Zoogalaktika. ru / Zoogalaxy. net knowledge portal features a specialised inclusive section called ‘The Animal World for People with Intellectual Disabilities, ’ which is aimed at people with intellectual disabilities and intellectual development issues.

This section is not an auxiliary element, but an integral part of the ZOOGALAXY ecosystem philosophy, based on the belief that everyone should have access to learning about the living world and developing a respectful attitude towards animals, regardless of their intellectual abilities.

Within this area, consistent and responsible work is being carried out to create accessible and humanely calibrated forms of perception of material dedicated to the animal world of our planet.

For us, it is fundamentally important not to imitate inclusion, but to create a real environment in which people with intellectual disabilities can:

• learn about the animal world without overload or pressure;
• form emotional connections with living creatures;
• feel interest, a sense of security and involvement;
• be included in the process of learning about wildlife on an equal footing with others.

We know that people with intellectual disabilities are pretty much left out of digital nature and culture stuff. But it's really important for them to have a calm, visually and emotionally balanced place to connect with the animal world.

In parallel with the development of the portal section, we are creating a specialised native mobile application for Android and iOS called ‘Animal World for People with Intellectual Disabilities, ’ which will be a natural continuation of this direction in the mobile environment. The application is being developed for Android and iOS platforms and is scheduled to be published on Google Play and the App Store in the near future. We consider the mobile format to be an important step towards expanding access to knowledge about the animal world for people with intellectual disabilities and their families.

This inclusive format is a long-term commitment of the ZOOGALAXY ecosystem. We plan to develop it consistently, understanding that we are creating not just digital content, but a humanitarian tool that shapes a more sensitive and responsible attitude towards the animal world and towards people on a global scale.
