The dama gazelle Gazella (Nanger) dama
The dama gazelle is a beautiful gazelle found in Africa, in the south of Sahara desert and scrublands of the Sahel, from north-eastern Mali and southern Algeria to Darfur. The dama gazelle is the largest of all gazelle species; its body length reaches 160 to 170 cm, the height is 90 to 120 cm, and weight ranges from 50 to 85 kilograms, with males being significantly larger than females. These gazelles have horns that are shaped like a lyre or the letter S and have a length of 20 to 40 cm (females’ horns are shorter).
